Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), situated in the heart of Colombo, was the very first purpose-built convention centre in Asia. It has hosted several high-profile events including the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in 1976, and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2013.
